11/20/06: Patrick Harison: Streetwalker

Patrick Harison has turned in a fine effort here, serious but cool jazz tunes played in a nice ensemble setting.  It is good to hear new young artists playing in a style that bucks the prevailing images of the accordion as being "corny" or just for certain kinds of "ethnic music".  The whole album has a dark brooding feel to it, which I like - a lot.

Highlights include "Rosebud Tonic", and "Papillions Noir".
